From the Desk Of...Douglas Lugo, Event Director, INTERPHEX
I had the privilege of becoming the Event Director of INTERPHEX in February of 2021. We were still in the clutches of the COVID-19 pandemic; and planning an event in six short months with COVID rules and regulations changing daily was quite the experience for the entire team. We worked through challenges to reunite attendees and exhibitors to the Show Floor to conduct and grow business. Then the 2022 edition, our second event in seven months, brought an even bigger attendance increase to the show with a positive, ‘pre-pandemic’ feel to it.
As we come off of these two rebound years, I’m thrilled that INTERPHEX is returning in 2023 back and better than before. The INTERPHEX Show Floor is almost sold out, which is a testament to the demand for in-person meetings and events in the pharma/bio industry.
We couldn’t be more excited to welcome industry professionals to New York City, April 25-27, 2023, at the Javits Center. According to Market Watch, Pharma market size was valued at USD 484 billion in 2021 and is expected to expand at a CAGR of 11.8% during the forecast period, reaching USD 945 billion by 2027.
I’m excited to announce that INTERPHEX 2023 will have a reimagined feel to it. This year, we have partnered with the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) which will solidify INTERPHEX as the only legitimate North American event that covers the entire Pharmaceutical Product Development Lifecycle. As an added attendee experience, we will feature the new INNOVATECH Pavilion, a hands-on pavilion experience giving attendees the chance to experience the lifecycle in sequential order.
For the first time ever, INTERPHEX will offer certification programs for pharma professionals pursuing accreditation in Life Science. We have partnered with the Center for Professional Innovation & Education to roll this out at the 2023 event.
These are just a few of the highlights we have heading into INTERPHEX 2023. We look forward to welcoming back the global pharma community to New York City.
