The presentation seeks to propose a predictive approach for preventive derouging and passivation program. In this regard, the presentation discusses the possible chemical agents that could be used for corrective or preventive derouging and passivation. The presentation is laid out as follows: (1) present the factors and variables that may influence rouge generation, (2) assess the severity of rouging on the process performance and product quality, (3) discuss the different detection methods and control plans that may be used in the field. Also, the presentation shares how the laboratory test may help to predict rouge generation over time. Finally, the benefit of a laboratory study to justify the frequency of preventive derouging and passivation program would be shown using several case studies.
