Cells have been growing in the dish for over 100 years as tools for discovery. Now cells have become promising new therapies. As the most important metric, cell potency should quantify the therapeutic effectiveness of a cell product. Maximal phenotypic and genotypic integrity, as well as minimal cell variability are required for maximal potency. This presentation will explore non-obvious sources of cell integrity degradation during the manufacture of cells and new approaches for avoiding them.
