Real-time Measurement and Controlling of Hydrogen Peroxide Bio-decontamination Cycles

In this presentation, I will outline best practices for using vaporized hydrogen peroxide for bio-decontamination in isolators, restricted access barrier systems (RABS), transfer hatches and different types of rooms. I will describe the effective H2O2 monitoring during bio-decontamination cycles and discuss how to properly use H2O2 sensors to control bio-decontamination (including tips on mounting and positioning sensors). I will also outline how to achieve stable and repeatable measurement using a novel method for measuring vaporized hydrogen peroxide. A critical factor in successful bio-decontamination is understanding the differences between relative humidity (RH) and relative saturation (RS) measurement values over process times. Therefore, part of the presentation will focus on differences between relative saturation and relative humidity in H2O2 bio-decontamination. Ambiguous interpretation of these values is a common pitfall when using vaporized hydrogen peroxide.
