Sai Boddu is a Professor of Pharmaceutics in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Ajman University (AU), UAE. Boddu has over 20 years of pharmaceutical experience in both academic and industrial settings. He developed several pharmaceutical formulations and novel nanocarrier systems for Rx and OTC drugs. Boddu has experience in drug product design with 505(j) ANDA, and 505(b)(2) NDA approaches. Boddu holds 2 patents and published more than 120 research and review articles in various peer-reviewed journals. Boddu is a co-Editor of the book titled "Excipient Applications in Formulation Design and Drug Delivery", published by Springer. Boddu also serves as an Associate Editor of Cancer Reports and Scientific Advisor on the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences. He is an active member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) and participated in various focus groups and communities.
Boddu received an Interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), USA. Before joining AU, he worked as a tenured faculty at the University of Toledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, USA. His research interests include: designing novel drug delivery systems for treating anterior and posterior segment ocular diseases; formulating technologies for transdermal drug delivery; and transporter mediated drug delivery, especially the role of uptake and efflux transporters in drug pharmacokinetics.
