The 8th Annual INTERPHEX Puerto Rico Conference & Exhibition, the island’s largest gathering of life science industry suppliers and related professionals, is announcing new show

March 4-5, featured 250 exhibiting companies and was attended by more than 3,800

well as the greater Caribbean region.
The event team at Reed Exhibitions, producers of INTERPHEX Puerto Rico, will hold the
second in a series of planning meetings with its Conference Advisory Board in mid-September.
The upcoming meeting, which will take place at the Pfizer Carolina facility, will determine the
educational content and special events for the 2011 event.
The conference advisory board is chaired by Reed Exhibitions and is comprised of industry
leaders from Amgen, CooperVision, Pfizer, Roche Diagnostics, Lilly del Caribe, Stryker, Medtronic,
Jacobs, PR Tec, MediSearch, ISPE, PRMA, PRIDCO and INDUNIV. INTERPHEX is sponsored by INDUNIV, ISPE and the Puerto Rico Manufacturers Association and endorsed by a host of industry organizations and professional publications.
“As a member of the INTERPHEX Puerto Rico Conference Advisory Board, I feel a responsibility
to help provide information and education to the industry on the latest trends and challenges we are
facing,” stated Victor Batista, Senior Director, Pfizer Carolina. “A key goal for this program in 2011 is
not only to educate and share best practices, but to provoke and challenge the thinking of Puerto Rico’s
industry leaders regarding such often overlooked topics as the development of human capital, preferred
partnerships, strategies and value propositions to remain competitive in the current dynamic
environment.”
“INTERPHEX Puerto Rico is much awaited by the industry due to the quality of the exhibits,
special events and education focused on manufacturing excellence and best practices. The partnership
between our event team and industry leaders is essential to delivering an event for all life sciences
professionals – suppliers and manufacturers so they can to keep their fingers on the pulse of this
industry,” stated Barbara McAuliffe, Event Director, INTERPHEX Puerto Rico.
McAuliffe invites all professionals in the life science industry to mark their calendars as the
event will be celebrated later in the year than usual but with many new elements. The event team and
planning board are focusing on core areas such as microbiology, convergence technologies, technology
transfer, energy efficiency and others. INTERPHEX Puerto Rico serves as a proven source of education,
technology, products, solutions and networking for industry professionals.
“We need events like INTERPHEX to take place in Puerto Rico as they contribute to showcasing
the island and its life sciences industries and expose them to the latest trends in other countries where
INTERPHEX is celebrated,” said Ana María Viscasillas from the Puerto Rico Convention Bureau.
INTERPHEX Puerto Rico is one of a series of INTERPHEX global events known as a respected source of
innovation, education, and professional advancement for a globally important center of drug and
medical device manufacturing, from process development through delivery to market. Networking
