OPTIMA Pharma to Premier H4 at INTERPHEX 2015

NEW YORK, NY; March 24, 2015 – International Pharmaceutical Expo (INTERPHEX), sponsored by Parenteral Drug Association (PDA), the premier industry event dedicated to showcasing pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical innovation, technology and knowledge today announced that OPTIMA pharma, the specialist for filling and packaging machines, will be launching its new technology that improves processes and increase efficiencies at INTERPHEX 2015, April 21-23, at the Javits Center in New York.

"I am delighted that OPTIMA pharma has selected INTERPHEX as the place to premier their industry leading knowledge and new, cutting-edge technologies,” said Ed Several, Senior Vice President and General Manager, INTERPHEX. “These exciting new solutions build upon their commitment to developing new methodologies and technologies to solve challenges in the development and manufacturing of life saving therapeutics. Our attendees will gain insight that will enable them to positively impact their results.”

“We are pleased to announce that the OPTIMA H4, a new type of filling and closing machine, will make its first INTERPHEX presentation debut at booth 3103,” said Matthias Poslovski, Technical Sales Director, OPTIMA pharma. “OPTIMA H4 covers a great number of diverse applications and, at the same time offers simple operation, ease of accessibility, reliability and low space requirements. Decision makers will be very impressed by this new, state-of-the-art technology.”

The OPTIMA H4 is easy to operate, accessible, and reliable with low space requirements. Extensive standardization in the development of OPTIMA H4 allows the pre-manufacture of modules, resulting in time and cost benefits. Nested vials, syringes and cartridges are all processed. Opening the tubs and removing the Tyvek® papers can be done, if required, by a robot. The robot is already installed in the area of the filling machine, which saves space. Semi-automated systems can also be integrated, with several options for containment. Regardless of the isolator, all systems can be fitted to the standardized machine baseplate.

For filling, a ten-position system and rotary piston pumps is provided, as well asperistaltic or time-pressure filling systems that can be added at any time. The transport system of OPTIMA H4 originates from high performance machinery. It was simplified mechanically to ensure careful handling of containers. A high output rate of up to 24,000 objects per hour is achieved. Retrofitting can also expand output up to 36,000 objects per hour. The same applies to upgrading in-process controls (IPC) and for vacuum filling and vacuum stopper insertion. Both can be supplemented at a later date, without requiring changes to the machine baseplate.

INTERPHEX 2015 takes place April 21-23, at the Javits Convention Center in New York, New York. Register Today.
